Liberation Maiden is an action-platformer game developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Suda51 for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system. Released in 2012, it follows the story of Shoko Ozora, the president of the high school student council. When her school is transported to a strange fantasy world called the Realm of Adrasil, she must fight her way through enemy-infested environments to rescue her fellow students.
The gameplay combines side-scrolling platforming with intense combat against a variety of opponents. Shoko wields a drill-powered baton called a Trance Pipeline which she uses to unleash powerful combos and unleash her inner psychokinetic abilities known as the Pandora Psyker. By chaining attacks, she can enter a heightened Burst state to pull off devastating special moves.
